Jashari Samuel
The founder and visionary behind Invaluable Treasure Foundation, a mentorship and educational initiative dedicated to empowering marginalized youth and young adults through culturally grounded knowledge, historical literacy, and holistic personal development.
With a dynamic background that bridges legal advocacy, higher education administration, and community-centered mentorship, Jashari brings both professional expertise and lived commitment to her work.
She began her career as a paralegal, earning her Paralegal Certificate and Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies before serving in disability law. During her time as a Disability Paralegal, she advocated for clients navigating complex Social Security Disability claims—many of whom faced systemic disadvantages that mirrored the inequities she studied in her academic work. This role sharpened her skills in legal research, case analysis, and client advocacy, while deepening her passion for justice-centered work.
Transitioning into higher education, Jashari served in pivotal roles within college business services and academic administration, including as a Business Specialist III in the Bursar’s Office at Lone Star College. In these roles, she supported students in securing scholarships, third-party funding, and financial resources to continue their education. Working closely with diverse student populations, she witnessed firsthand the gaps in guidance, cultural support, and knowledge access—experiences that ultimately inspired her to create the Invaluable Treasures Foundation.
Jashari is also a dedicated scholar. She completed her B.A. in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in African American Studies at the University of Houston. In Fall 2026, she will begin her PhD in African American Studies, where her research will explore Black history, memory, cultural preservation, sound, and the transformative power of storytelling. Her doctoral work directly informs the Foundation’s mission: to build educational pathways that affirm identity, honor legacy, and provide students with the tools to thrive academically, personally, and historically.
Through the Invaluable Treasures Foundation, Jashari blends her legal expertise, academic training, administrative experience, and deep cultural commitment to create programming that is rigorous, empowering, and rooted in community. Her goal is simple and profound: to ensure that every student she encounters recognizes themselves as an invaluable treasure—worthy, capable, and connected to a lineage of resilience.
